Prof. Mierzejewski wziął udział w debacie o XX Zjeździe KPCh

On October 27, 2022, prof. Mierzejewski took part in a debate on the changes in the Chinese party resulting from the 20th Congress of the CCP, organized by the Public Library of the Capital City of Warsaw - the Main Library of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship in cooperation with the Department of Asian Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Warsaw Branch of TPP-Ch as part of a series of Thursday meetings about East Asia.

In the political and economic structures of the People's Republic of China, the Congress of the Communist Party of China plays a vital role due to the creation of the ideological dimension of state management and programming of economic development. He is also responsible for shaping the political system in the leading party and state bodies for the next five years. The 20th Congress of the CCP is a convention of great importance for the future of the PRC. Xi Jinping is extending his term as party secretary general, even though this year marks the decade of his rule, and, as initially expected, he will retire under the rule of "holding office until the age of 70". In addition, there is an essential debate about the direction of China's development, which may be based on partial self-isolation in the form of a dual-circulation economy or on the continuation of the current course of reform and opening. In this context, the lecturers answer three basic questions:

1. How are contradictions defined and what does their redefinition mean for further policy in the People's Republic of China?

2. How and in what form do theoretical discussions influence the formation of a social mobilization campaign in relation to "common prosperity"?

3. How is the change and selection of new cadres, i.e. the political base of Xi Jinping?
