Akane Nakazawa and Paulina Rogoziecka analyse how Japanese government institutions and businesses perceive Poland as a partner for cooperation in the hi-tech sector. Drawing on English- and Japanese-language materials published between 2015 and 2026, the authors examine whether Poland is viewed as a direct technology partner or primarily as a regional base for operations in European markets. They highlight differences between government strategic priorities and business considerations, exploring opportunities for and barriers to cooperation, including geopolitical risks, rising operating costs, and limited familiarity with Poland’s startup ecosystem. The analysis concludes with recommendations for deepening the bilateral technology partnership. The entire CAA Paper is available here.
